Why You Should Visit

The 36th edition of a two-day walking event through autumn Kakogawa, starting and finishing in front of the city hall. On day 1 entry to Kakurinji and its treasure hall is free and the SHOWA Group Culture Center hosts a Kakogawa Philharmonic stage and food stalls; on day 2 there is a treasure hunt for children at Hiokayama Park. At the finish, local-food booths and a prize draw with Kakogawa beef await. Fees: 1,500 yen for high-school age and up, 800 yen for junior high, free for primary school and under (same for one or two days). Advance entry closes 13 October; same-day entry is possible 8:00–11:00.
