About 10 min on foot from Izumiotsu Station (Nankai Main Line) to Otsu Shrine (Hamahatcho); the 12-town union runs east of the station along Izumiotsu Chuo-sen. Roads across the city are closed to vehicles on festival days and there is nowhere to park, so come by train. The city's Fureai Bus does not run on festival days (4, 10 and 11 Oct).

Highlights

• Hamahatcho's kachiai: a float charges and slams head-on into the one ahead. Hamahatcho also calls the lion carving on its floats "onikuma" rather than the usual "shigami"
• Anashi: non-stop yarimawashi turns at the Toyonaka Post Office and Tadachi intersections from 6:00 on the eve; on the main day the Iinoyama rite follows the shrine entry at Izumi-Anashi Shrine
• Sone-Sukematsu: turns at the Satsuki-dori intersection east of Kita-Sukematsu Station; the joint parade laps the same course three or four times
