Why You Should Visit

WHATAWON, a pet-friendly mall in Kishiwada, goes full Halloween for October. Every Saturday and Sunday at 13:00 there's a costume parade that adults, kids and dogs can join, and a hat on its own counts as a costume. Turn up in costume any day and you get one free go on the crane game. There's also a slime-making workshop for kids and limited-edition drinks and snacks at the shops, including a yuzu drink topped with a googly eye. A good Halloween outing if you're bringing the dog.

By car, about 5 minutes from Kishiwada-Izumi IC on the Hanwa Expressway (323 parking spaces). By train, take the Nankai bus bound for Michi-no-Eki Aisai Land from Izumi-Chuo Station (Senboku Line), about 15 minutes, and get off at Tonboike Koen Higashi, a 3-minute walk.
