Why You Should Visit

A music and dance festival that turns the street in front of JR Izumi-Fuchu Station into a car-free zone, organised by the Izumi City shopping-street federation and friends. Two stages, one by the station and one by the FamilyMart, run from 10:40 into the late afternoon with local yosakoi teams, dance schools, a British-style brass band, reggae acts and singer-songwriters. Twenty-six stalls line the street with beef tongue curry, curry bread, kebabs and Japanese sweets, and entry is free. Good for anyone who wants to snack their way along a station-front street with live music in the air.
