Why You Should Visit
A long-running clam digging event at Shirahama Coast in Himeji starting on April 18, 2026. Running through September 23, it offers a rare chance to enjoy this seaside activity from spring into early autumn. Highlights include the first Clam Digging Championship on April 29, where participants compete by total catch weight, and a Universal Clam Digging program from mid-May designed to make the beach more accessible for wheelchair users and others with mobility concerns. Family-friendly extras such as treasure hunts and food trucks are also planned.
