Why You Should Visit
Hanshin Railway's annual open day, held to mark Japan's Railway Day at two sites near Hanshin Amagasaki Station. Inside the Amagasaki Depot, normally closed to the public, visitors can ride a mini Hanshin train, try being a conductor, pass through the train wash in a car, operate signals and level crossings, and see trains and equipment up close. Entry to the depot is by advance lottery. The neighbouring Amagasaki Castle Park site needs no booking and has a Hanshin Bus display, toy train layouts and food trucks. A full day out for families with train-loving kids.
