Price & booking: Free admission (works, coffee and sweets sold separately) No booking needed. A selection of the works is also sold online at the MOCAD ONLINE SHOP during the run.
Venue & access: Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design, MOCAD Gallery (Miyako Messe B1) About an 8-minute walk from Higashiyama Station on the Tozai subway line, or right by the Okazaki-koen ROHM Theatre Kyoto / Miyakomesse-mae bus stop. The venue is on B1 of Miyako Messe.

Why You Should Visit

The sixth edition of a selling exhibition where you can pick up and buy ceramics by makers based mainly in Kyoto. A spin-off of the "Coffee & Ceramics" series running since 2022, this time it widens from coffee cups to the plates that carry cake, biscuits and bread. More than twenty makers take part, including Masahide Nishide, Mieko Yagi, Shinroku Kiln and Koshun Togei, so you can hunt for an everyday favourite among plates of every material and technique. Hand-drip coffee from Globe Mountain Coffee and biscuits from Kyoto's Murakami Kaishindo are on hand, and entry is free. For anyone who wants to choose ceramics over a cup of coffee between the Okazaki museums.

Is there an admission fee?

The selling exhibition is free. Only the museum's own galleries in the same building charge admission.

Is it closed on any day?

It is closed on Monday 26 October. Otherwise it opens daily from 10:00 to 18:00, with last entry at 17:30.

Can I buy without visiting?

A selection of the works is sold online at the MOCAD ONLINE SHOP during the run. It is not the full line-up, so visit if you want to choose in person.
