Why You Should Visit

A two-day handmade fair that brings makers from across Japan to Miyako Messe in Kyoto's Okazaki district. Around 1,000 booths sell one-of-a-kind accessories, homewares, fashion and food, and you can talk directly with the people who made them. A workshop area offers hands-on crafts for children and adults alike. Falling in early December, it is a good place to hunt for Christmas and year-end gifts, and being indoors, the weather won't get in the way.
