Why You Should Visit

To celebrate the Hanshin Tigers winning the 2026 Central League pennant, JB Honshi Expressway is lighting up the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Tigers colors. This year's title is the club's first-ever back-to-back league championship, and the special illumination runs for four nights, October 12 to 15, from sunset until midnight. The 3,911m suspension bridge glows over the strait in colors you won't normally see, and from Maiko Park right at the foot of the bridge you can look straight up at the towers and cables. With the lights on until midnight, it's easy to drop by after work — a good pick for Tigers fans and night photographers.

NOTE

Past championship light-ups

  • Special light-ups celebrating the Tigers were also held on the bridge after their league titles in 2023 and 2025
  • In 2026 the title was clinched on October 3, and JB Honshi Expressway announced the light-up on October 5
