Why You Should Visit

An "after-Expo" market that brings the cultures met at Expo 2025 Osaka back to Kobe. For six days, goods, folk crafts, accessories and food from around 14 countries fill Sanchika Hall, the event space in Sannomiya's underground mall. Expect raw honey from Kyrgyzstan, woven baskets from Madagascar, hand-embroidered Ukrainian shirts, Tuareg jewellery from Mali and Turkish dondurma ice cream. A solo exhibition by a Malian artist and hands-on workshops run alongside the stalls. Admission is free, and being underground it works in rain or summer heat.

FAQ

Is admission free?
Yes. You only pay for goods you buy and for workshop participation.
Is it worth going on a rainy day?
The venue is a hall inside the Sanchika underground mall, connected to Sannomiya Station below ground, so rain and summer heat are not an issue.
Does the last day keep the same hours?
No. The final day, Tuesday 18 August, closes at 18:00; other days run until 20:00.
Is it good with children?
Yes. There are stalls where you can play folk instruments, hands-on workshops, and an Indonesian dance session on Sunday 16 August.
