Why You Should Visit

A walk-through, hands-on exhibition set in an old inn where retired dolls live, looked after by a zashiki-warashi house spirit. You seal the entrance with a charm against evil, learn your own yokai from your birthday, draw a past-life card, then wander the inn gathering clues to find the doll you cherished in a former life. Slightly eerie and bittersweet, it is the companion piece to the immersive show Yokai Yomatsuri held at the same venue in autumn.

NOTE

How it works
  • Seal the entrance with a charm against evil and enter the inn
  • Learn your yokai from your birthday and draw a past-life card
  • Wander the inn freely, gathering clues to lost memories
  • Spend a quiet moment with the doll you cherished in a former life
OSAKA Underworld Walk
  • A two-part series with Yokai Yomatsuri (Oct 16–Nov 11), by the same organizer at the same venue

* Zashiki-warashi played by Kaede Akimaru

* No photos, video, audio recording or phone use inside

* Open every day during the run
