Why You Should Visit
A two-day makers' fair bringing around 100 creators from across Japan to the Hall of Light, the atrium of the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art in Okazaki. Browse handmade accessories, homewares and stationery and chat with the people who made them. There is a capsule-toy machine stocked with exhibitors' work, a stamp rally, workshops and live demonstrations. The 3rd National Design Championship runs alongside, where visitors' votes and purchases decide which designs go into nationwide production. Being indoors, it works in any weather.
