Why You Should Visit
For three days, factories, warehouses, farms, shrines, a university and even city hall in Tenri, Nara, open their doors to visitors. The 2026 edition is the second, with participants growing from 28 to 45. You can move between manufacturing, construction, farming, food, tourism, culture, religious and educational sites to watch production processes normally closed to the public, try hands-on crafts and shop for local goods. Some programs require advance booking. A good fit for anyone who wants to see Tenri through its workplaces rather than its sights.
