Tenshiba Gate: 5–10 min on foot from Tennoji Station (JR, Osaka Metro) or Kintetsu Osaka-Abenobashi Station. Shinsekai Gate: 5–10 min from Dobutsuen-mae Station (Osaka Metro) or Shin-Imamiya Station (JR, Nankai). No dedicated parking; drivers use the Tennoji Park underground car park (490 spaces).

There are 9 car parks within a 12-minute walk of Tennoji Zoo, and 8 public restrooms within 8 minutes. The map shows each with its walking time.

TICKETS / REGISTRATION

No reservation needed. Buy admission at the Tenshiba or Shinsekai gate counters, or as a web ticket via asoview. Web tickets are not date-specific, stay valid for one month after purchase, and let you skip the counter queue on weekends and holidays.

NOTE

Evening programs

• Night ZOO glow-stamp rally: every Night ZOO date. Collect stamps on a card at several stations around the zoo
• Animal-hunt Night BINGO: Sat Oct 17 and Sun Oct 18, 17:00–19:45, lawn plaza next to the multipurpose square. Find LED animals hidden in the illuminations to complete a bingo card and win a prize. Sponsored by Osaka Toyopet; on these two days the illuminations are powered by Toyota electric vehicles
• Illuminations are also on during the other Night ZOO dates

Viewing hours to note (September and October)

• Until 18:00: Bird Paradise, Bird World, stork house, raptor house, crane house, flamingo house, lesser flamingo house, small animal house, bear house, monkey and baboon house, chimpanzee room (indoor)
• Until 19:45: Friendship Garden, nocturnal animal house, Southern Hemisphere house, IFAR reptile house, Penguin Park & Sea Lion Wharf, polar bears
• In rain the giraffes move to indoor display, viewable until 19:45

Shops and food

• GooZoo gift shop open until 20:00, FooZoo restaurant until 19:30, some food trucks until 16:30

August dates

• The August 14–16 dates have ended
