Why You Should Visit

For two days, the ground floor of the Rotating Observatory at Sumaura Hilltop Park becomes a play space where kids and parents can try Showa-era classics such as kendama and the tabletop baseball game Yakyuban, alongside newer games. New this time is an event-only Mini 4WD circuit: for 1,500 yen you assemble your own car and race it on the track. Assembly takes about 90 minutes and each session takes only the first five people, so plan to arrive for the session you want. Entry is free and the venue is indoors, so it runs in the rain too, making it an easy half-day outing by ropeway with children.
