Sumaura Hilltop Park Ennichi Fair 2026

Why You Should Visit

For five days over the September holidays, the ground floor of the Rotating Observatory at Sumaura Hilltop Park turns into a small Japanese fair with string-pull prizes, ball scooping and cork-gun shooting, each 300 yen a go. Park entry is free; you ride the ropeway up from Sumaura-koen Station and get views over Suma beach and the Akashi Strait on the way. The stalls are indoors, so it runs rain or shine, and there's a table-tennis room (paid) and a free ball pit upstairs for kids.

Take the ropeway right outside Sumaura-koen Station (Sanyo Electric Railway) up to the park. By car, turn uphill at the Sumaura-koen intersection on Route 2; the municipal Sumaura-koen car park (about 200 spaces, paid) is west of the station rotary

FAQ

Do I need to book?

No. Just go to the 1st floor of the Rotating Observatory during opening hours and pay 300 yen per go.

Does it run in the rain?

Yes, the stalls are indoors so it goes ahead in rain. The ropeway may stop in strong wind, though.

Is it OK for small children?

The string-pull and ball scooping are easy for little ones. There's also a free ball pit on the 2nd floor.
