Why You Should Visit

To mark Kobe Port Opening Day on December 7, Kobe Suma Sea World drops admission to ¥1,000 for Kobe city residents for three days, Sun Dec 6 to Tue Dec 8. Adults, children, infants and seniors all pay the same ¥1,000; with the regular adult 1-day ticket at ¥3,100 in October and November, adults save ¥2,100. Tickets are web-only, sold by time slot in advance, and you show proof of address at a special booth beside the entrance gate. Last year the offer ran as "Kobe Citizens' Week." The orca performance — the only one in western Japan — and the Local Life zone recreating the Rokko rivers and the Seto Inland Sea are all part of the visit.
