Why You Should Visit

The Korean Cultural Center in Osaka holds this Korean film festival every year. The 12th edition runs for five days from 20 November in Nuri Hall on the center's 7th floor. All seven films, four features and three documentaries, are Japan premieres, and this is the first year with a documentary section, including two films about Zainichi Koreans. Directors take the stage after screenings from 20 to 22 November, and on 23 November actor Ryu Seung-ryong appears at a special screening of Extreme Job. Entry is free, but each screening requires an advance online application with a lottery, closing on 6 November. A good pick if you want to see Korean films not yet released in Japan.
