Venue & access: Nihon-no-Heso Park (Kamihie, Nishiwaki) JR Kakogawa Line Nihon-no-Heso Park Station sits right beside the venue. By car, about 20 min from Takino-Yashiro IC on the Chugoku Expressway. Crowds and traffic restrictions are expected on the day, so public transport is recommended.

Why You Should Visit

A summer festival held each year in Nishiwaki, the city that marks the "navel of Japan" where 135°E and 35°N meet. Nihon-no-Heso Park fills with a stage and around 100 food stalls, and from late afternoon kids can enjoy goldfish scooping and giant bubbles. The finale is a burst of 3,000 fireworks from around 7:50 pm. With JR Nihon-no-Heso Park Station right next door, it's an easy fireworks night to reach by train — a good pick for families wanting a summer festival and fireworks in one trip to North Harima.
