Free admission. To drink beer, buy a reusable plastic cup (¥100, tax incl.) at a beer booth on your first purchase, then pay per beer at each booth (no cup needed for food only). Last year's tickets are accepted at all booths as ¥300 each; no tickets are sold this year.

About 15 min on foot from Kintetsu-Nara Station, or take a Nara Kotsu city-loop bus (outer loop) from JR Nara or Kintetsu-Nara to the Daibutsuden Kasuga-taisha-mae stop. No parking or bicycle parking at the venue.

There are 3 car parks within a 12-minute walk of Ukigumo-enchi, Nara Park, and 6 public restrooms within 8 minutes. The map shows each with its walking time.

NOTE

Shrine ceremony: Sat Oct 3 from 9:00 at Himuro Shrine. Beer is offered to pray for the prosperity of brewing, and the festival follows.

How it works: buy the reusable cup and your first beer at a beer booth; rinse the cup at any beer booth for refills. T-shirts and take-home beer are sold on site.

Rules: only the official cup may be used; return food dishes to the booth you bought from; take your cup home afterwards; do not feed the deer anything other than deer crackers.

Payment: settle at each booth. Cash everywhere; e-money and credit cards at some booths. Leftover sticker tickets are not refunded and no new tickets are sold.
