Venue & access: Kanata Seisakusho (Tondabayashi) About 15 minutes on foot from Kishi Station on the Kintetsu Nagano Line. Free parking for 10 cars along Route 170 near WAKO COFFEE; cars cannot drive up to the venue itself.

Why You Should Visit

Kanata Seisakusho, a furniture maker in Tondabayashi since 1927, opens its factory for a one-day market. This third edition brings 14 stalls: local craft beer, coffee from a nearby roaster, spice curry and roasted sweet potatoes, plus tableware, lighting and flowers, and woodworking and pewter workshops. You can also join a free factory tour, make a cushion cover from upholstery fabric offcuts sewn on the spot by a craftsman, and browse a one-day outlet sale of display pieces and samples. A good outing if you want to see how furniture is made or sample small businesses from the Minamikawachi area in one place.

Does it go ahead in the rain?

Yes, it is held rain or shine.

Is there parking?

There is free parking for 10 cars along Route 170 near WAKO COFFEE. Cars cannot drive up to the venue. By train, it is about 15 minutes on foot from Kishi Station on the Kintetsu Nagano Line.

Do I need to book the cushion cover workshop?

Reservations get priority. Sessions run hourly from 10:00, with the last at 15:00-16:00. The fee is 5,000 yen incl. tax; book by phone, Instagram DM or email.

When are the factory tours?

It is free, running at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 and 14:00 and taking about 30 minutes each.
