Why You Should Visit

For seven days, Matsuchika, the basement food floor of Matsuzakaya Takatsuki, gathers food from around the world. It is the third edition of the series after July's Africa & Asia Gourmet Journey, and this time Europe joins in with Dutch stroopwafels and Portuguese pastéis de nata. You will also find a traditional Jordanian lunch box, white honey from Kyrgyzstan and coffee from Burundi, and the stroopwafels and nata are baked on site. The store is a one-minute walk from JR Takatsuki Station, an easy stop if you want to sample dishes from several countries in one go.

No. Food and goods are paid for at each stall.

Waffle House bakes large stroopwafels, CASA NATA bakes pastéis de nata, and Little Lanka makes its shrimp curry parfait on site.

Is the Jordanian lunch box the same every day?

Freekeh is sold on 21–24 Oct and fasolia on 25–27 Oct, both ¥1,500.

Is it on when it rains?

Yes, the basement venue is indoors. The Filipino kitchen car at the 1F East Arcade (21–24 Oct) is cancelled in rain.
