About 3 minutes on foot from the east exit of JR / Hanshin Motomachi Station

Why You Should Visit

For two days, Nakamachi-dori in Kobe's former foreign settlement fills with terrace seating designed to suit the historic streetscape. Now in its second year, the event is run as a social experiment in new ways to spend time in the district. Along Nakamachi-dori (in front of Daimaru Kobe and THE 45th) and at the plaza in front of SMBC, specialty coffee roasters lead the line-up — TAOCA COFFEE from Kurakuen in Nishinomiya and Geisha-only GESHARY COFFEE from Hibiya, Tokyo, among them — with a wine booth and a bakery too. The CAFÉ TICKET SET (¥1,500) gets you one drink at each of three spots. Free entry; a good pick for a slow coffee-and-pastry afternoon outdoors.
