Kyoto Niku Matsuri (Meat Festival) 2026

Why You Should Visit

An open-air festival devoted to Kyoto Niku, Kyoto's top-grade wagyu brand, now in its 11th year. Twelve food booths line Okazaki Park in front of Heian Jingu, with well-known Kyoto restaurants cooking dishes made from Kyoto beef. Drinks to go with the food are on sale, and a stamp rally offers Kyoto beef as prizes. Entry is free, so it suits anyone who wants to graze through several restaurants' meat dishes in one afternoon outdoors.
