Why You Should Visit

To mark the 70th anniversary of Izumi becoming a city, the Kubosoh Memorial Museum of Arts stays open after dark from 17:00 to 20:00. The concert hall is wrapped in projection mapping, the approach from the entrance to the main building and the pond garden of the new wing are lit up, and small light installations are scattered through the galleries. A night-only exhibition room, "A Special Room Open Only at Night," runs at the same time, and regular museum admission covers everything. A quiet winter-evening outing in southern Osaka.

FAQ

Is there a separate fee for the projection mapping?
No. It is included in regular museum admission (adults ¥1,000, high school and university students ¥600, junior high and younger free).
Is it suitable for families with small children?
Yes. Junior high students and younger are free, and on Wed Dec 16 and Wed Dec 23 the whole family is free when visiting with a child under elementary school age.
Are there any closed days?
Yes, the museum is closed on Mondays during the run (Dec 14 and Dec 21).
Can I go by car?
Yes, there is free parking, about 3 minutes from Kishiwada-Izumi IC on the Hanwa Expressway. On weekends the last return bus is at 19:07, so a car is handier if you stay until closing.
