Why You Should Visit

A day when Michi-no-Eki Kobe Fruit & Flower Park Ozo turns entirely to rice, timed to the new harvest. It is built from three parts: Kome Yokocho, a lane of side dishes to eat with rice; Okome Hyakka, a department store of rice sweets, sake and goods; and Kome Guerrilla, with rice-throwing and a lion dance. Kobe grows Koshihikari, Kinuhikari and Hinohikari, plus the sake rice Yamada Nishiki. Entry is free, and a ¥1,000 pass buys eight Kome Yokocho tickets and a bowl of freshly harvested rice.

NOTE

Three parts:

  • Kome Yokocho — a lane of side dishes made to go with rice: Kobe produce such as eel simmered with sansho, seasonal kimchi, tsukudani, nori and eggs, plus shirasu rice bowls, sushi rolls and mitarashi dango
  • Okome Hyakka — sweets, sake, rice-sack bags and onigiri goods, all built around rice
  • Kome Guerrilla — lion dance and rice-throwing from 13:30

Stallholders and day-of details are announced on the organiser's official Instagram. Details may change without notice.
