Why You Should Visit
An annual food stamp rally run by the Kawanishi Chamber of Commerce, held this year over two months from October 1 to November 30. Thirty-six restaurants and food shops across Kawanishi take part, from a farm café in Kurokawa and a day-trip hot spring in Ishimichi to bakeries and an udon shop around Hirano and Midoridai, and bistros and bars near Kawanishi-Noseguchi Station. Eat or buy something at different shops to collect stamps; two stamps are enough to enter the prize draw, and six or more open up experience prizes such as driving a Nose Electric Railway train or picking blueberries. A good excuse to try places in town you have not been to yet.
