Why You Should Visit

A seven-day fair on Hankyu Umeda's basement food floor where Ibaraki, Japan's top chestnut-growing prefecture by both acreage and shipments, brings sweets made with Kasama chestnuts. The Kasama Marron Collection has been held yearly in Ikebukuro, Tokyo since 2022, and this is its first time in Kansai. Nine confectioners, cafés and chestnut specialists bring mont blancs, chestnut sweets and yokan. Kasama's entry won last year's national Mont Blanc contest in Kyotamba, Kyoto, and Kasama Marron Café pipes fresh chestnut cream to order on the spot.
