Why You Should Visit

For three evenings only, Izumo Daijingu in Kameoka lights up the autumn leaves in its grounds. The shrine counts the maples of its sacred forest among the best in the city, and during the light-up, dedicatory performances are planned in the worship hall. It suits anyone looking for an evening of autumn colour a short trip outside central Kyoto.
