Why You Should Visit

Japan's largest open-house architecture event, running since 2014, when Osaka's "living architecture" opens its doors for free over one autumn weekend. Officially the Living Architecture Museum Festival Osaka, known in English as OPEN HOUSE OSAKA. The 13th edition in 2026 expects a record 224 buildings (32 first-timers), from historic landmarks and modern architecture to Showa-era neighbourhood cafes, with special access to normally closed interiors and talks by owners concentrated in the two-day main period. Programme details and how to take part are due around the end of September.
