Why You Should Visit

Now in its 73rd year, this autumn chrysanthemum show fills Sannomaru Square at Himeji Castle with prize blooms grown by members of the Himeji Chrysanthemum Society, including large-flowered ogiku. The square lies in the castle's free area, so you can stroll through without buying a castle ticket. It's a seasonal chance to photograph colorful chrysanthemums with the white keep rising behind them, and an easy stop to add to a day of sightseeing in Himeji.
