Why You Should Visit

A Nepal-meets-Africa food and culture fest at Shinsaibashi BIGSTEP, the Amerikamura shopping complex. Two in-house restaurants lead it, HIMALAYAN KITCHEN on the 3rd floor and the African restaurant PANAF' on the 7th, with stalls on the grand staircase serving momo, samosa, mafe and Kenyan kebab. There's a folk-music stage, ethnic clothing and goods for sale, and workshops, and the day also kicks off a gourmet stamp rally running to Oct 31, with event visitors receiving a card that already carries one point. Admission is free, and it's an easy stop on a Shinsaibashi shopping day.

FAQ

Is there an admission fee?
Admission is free. Food, goods and workshops are paid.
What if it rains?
The grand staircase is outdoors, so the programme may change with the weather. The 3F and 7F restaurants are indoors and open regardless. Check the official Instagram (@bigstep.amemura) on the day.
Can I get the medal on the day?
The medal is a reward of the stamp rally running Sep 5–Oct 31, not a same-day giveaway. You get one stamp per ¥1,000+ spent at HIMALAYAN KITCHEN (3F) or PANAF' (7F), and three stamps can be exchanged at the 4F management office (11:30–19:30). Event visitors on Sep 5 receive a card with one point, so eating at both restaurants that day completes the three.
