Why You Should Visit

A community-run festival held from morning to night at the Toyosato area of Yodogawa Riverside Park in Higashiyodogawa. Dance shows and taiko drumming fill the morning, the afternoon brings a folk-dance circle around the yagura tower that anyone can join, live music follows in the evening, and the finale is a roughly 30-minute fireworks show from 7pm with about 3,000 shells planned. Food booths and food trucks line the riverside grounds all day.

FAQ

Can I watch the fireworks for free?

Yes, admission is free. Paid viewing seats are scheduled to go on sale on the day from 12:00; seats can't be chosen and are assigned closest-to-the-fireworks first in order of purchase.

What time should I go?

The festival starts at 10:00 (pre-opening from 9:45). To join the folk dance, come for the 14:00 briefing and practice; if you're there for the fireworks, arriving in the late afternoon lets you catch the live music from 16:30 before the 19:00 launch.

Will it go ahead if it rains?

It goes ahead in ordinary rain. It is cancelled if, for example, a heavy rain or storm warning or a thunderstorm advisory is in effect with no prospect of being lifted, and the fireworks may be called off in strong wind at the pyrotechnician's discretion. Cancellations are posted on the official website and social media.

Can I come by car?

There is no visitor parking, and the car park next to the venue is not open to the public on the day. Bicycle parking is available on site but expected to be crowded, so public transport is recommended by the organizers.
