Why You Should Visit

A large-scale bon odori festival in Higashiosaka, birthplace of Kawachi Ondo folk music, mixing the traditional dance with reggae and hip hop. A yagura stage goes up in the fountain plaza outside Hanazono Rugby Stadium, with reggae and hip hop acts NG HEAD, KENTY GROSS, EXPRESS, JAGGLA and ZENDAMAN sharing the day with Kawachi Ondo singers such as Kazuya Ikoma and Koji Matsubara. Food trucks, food tents and kids' game stalls line the plaza. Free entry; a secret guest joins on Sep 19.

There are kids' game stalls. The stage gets loud in the evening, so young children may be more comfortable a little away from the yagura.
