Price & booking: Park admission is required (¥450 for high-school age and up; free for junior-high and younger; high-school students ¥250 from Jul 19 to Aug 31). Illuminight Bampaku and the fireworks area are free to view. The Bampaku Night Market with Beer Garden costs an extra ¥450 in advance or ¥500 on the day (free for elementary schoolers and younger). Reserved seats from ¥1,000. No reservation is needed to enter the park or watch. Night-market tickets are cheaper in advance, and the popular reserved seats must be booked ahead — many dates sold out last year, so book early via the official site if you want a seat.
Venue & access: Expo '70 Commemorative Park — around the Tower of the Sun, Omatsuri Hiroba and Yume-no-Ike About a 5-min walk from Banpaku-kinen-koen Station on the Osaka Monorail. By car, the Central and Japanese Garden car parks are open (last entry 21:30, closing 22:30).

Why You Should Visit

A summer-evening festival that turns Expo '70 Commemorative Park into a night market beneath the Tower of the Sun. The illuminated tower is joined by a 50-metre "wind path" of chimes and pinwheels, while Omatsuri Hiroba fills with food stalls, a beer garden, bon-odori dancing, DJs and festival games. There is also a designated area for hand-held fireworks, with buckets to rent. It runs across 27 days from late July to late September, mainly Friday to Sunday — an easy plan for an evening out.

Are there costs beyond park admission?
