Why You Should Visit

During the autumn special viewing at Ginkakuji (Jisho-ji), visitors can enter the main hall, the National Treasure Togudo and the Rouseitei on a guided tour. Togudo holds an Amida Buddha statue, a statue of Ashikaga Yoshimasa and the Dojinsai study room, and Rouseitei has sliding-door paintings by Okuda Genso. There are six tours a day of about 20 people each, filled first-come on the day, and each lasts about 30 minutes. Guides speak Japanese only.
