cost: Admission ¥500 (free for elementary school age and under). The park's Natural and Cultural Gardens / Japanese Garden entry fee is charged separately (¥450 for high-school age and up, free for junior high and under)

Why You Should Visit

Billed as one of western Japan's biggest cheese festivals, Cheese EXPO fills the East Plaza of Expo '70 Commemorative Park with cheese dishes such as pizza and pasta, plus stalls selling cheeses from around the world. The eighth edition runs on 14 and 15 November 2026. Around 20 food and sweets stalls work cheese into dishes from kebabs and takoyaki to soup dumplings and tteokbokki, and a dedicated Cheeseburger EXPO section gathers 11 burger shops. A fair of local businesses from the Hokusetsu area and free Yoshimoto comedy shows run at the same time. A good pick if you want to sample a wide range of cheese dishes, or are planning a family weekend out in the park.
