Why You Should Visit

A two-day event at the Sunanomaru and Nishinomaru plazas below Wakayama Castle where the vehicles that keep the city running gather in one place: police cars, fire engines, Self-Defense Forces vehicles, buses, construction machinery and more. 2026 marks its 10th edition. Besides seeing the vehicles up close, there is a fire department band concert, a kids' dance show, a tire-change experience, a quiz rally, a candy toss and a children's "driver's licence" to take home. Food stalls and food trucks are on site, and admission is free — an easy half day for kids who love vehicles.
