Why You Should Visit

For two hours after dark, the Suidosuji shopping street in Nada Ward turns into a row of night stalls. It is run by Wakuwaku Nishinada, a local NPO, and in 2026 the Hidamari shopping association in Suidosuji 6-chome joins in on the same night, widening the stretch of stalls. Shopkeepers set up tables in front of their own stores, so it feels less like a tourist food street and more like a late-summer evening when the neighbourhood comes out to eat. The whole covered arcade is walkable end to end, and it is easy going with children.

Along Suidosuji 1–6-chome, Nada Central Market and Nada Center shopping street you will find games such as shooting galleries, yo-yo fishing, bouncy-ball scooping and lucky draws, plus stalls selling shaved ice, frankfurters, fried chicken and craft beer

Nada Chuosuji Shotengai night market (around 17:00–21:00)

The Nada Chuosuji arcade, which crosses Suidosuji, holds its own night market the same evening. It keeps alive the memory of stalls that once appeared here on days containing a 2 or a 7; 13 shops set up in front of their shutters

What kind of food is there?

Stalls are run by the shops themselves, so what is on offer changes from store to store — fried snacks from the butchers and delis, sweets and so on. The stall list goes up on the organiser's page closer to the date.

Is it good for children?

Yes — the Nada Chuosuji side has target shooting, ring-toss, a crane game and kaleidoscope making, and the Suidosuji side adds yo-yo fishing and bouncy-ball scooping. Both are covered arcades and easy to walk.

What happens if it rains?

The venue is a covered arcade, but any cancellation or postponement is announced on the page of the organiser, NPO Wakuwaku Nishinada.
