Why You Should Visit

Nishinomiya's annual citizens' festival takes over the streets and parks around City Hall, right outside Hanshin Nishinomiya Station. 2026 marks the 51st edition, themed "Kokoro Odoru" (hearts dancing). The road in front of City Hall becomes a stage for a children's mikoshi and a live show by four local danjiri float groups, while the special stage by Amity Baycom Hall runs local performances and prize draws through the afternoon. Rokutanji Park fills with community food stalls, university booths and food trucks, and there are puppet shows for kids, a fire department experience and a high school vintage clothing flea market. An easy half day out with a strong local feel.
