Why You Should Visit

Tsuhozan Mirokuji, a temple in the hills of Yumesaki-cho, Himeji, opens its normally closed garden and main hall for one week in autumn and unveils its principal Miroku Triad statues. Admission is free from November 3 to 9, and an exhibition of works by artist Saori Terahara is held on the grounds. The first day, November 3, is Hotei Marché day, with handmade goods, kitchen cars, the temple's signature pumpkin rice porridge and stage performances. A quiet trip for anyone who wants to stroll an old mountain temple during the autumn foliage season.
