Why You Should Visit

An autumn showcase-and-sale of Sakai's food and craftsmanship, organised every year by the Sakai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Held at the Sakai City Industrial Promotion Center next to Nakamozu Station, it has four zones: a gourmet plaza of local eateries, a 'hidden gems' market of Sakai-made products such as forged knives, kombu and soy sauce, a sweets festa of popular local patisseries and wagashi shops, and a hands-on workshop area for kids and adults. Side attractions include knife re-sharpening by traditional craftsmen, an incense-making workshop from the Sakai Incense Festival, and displays of post, Self-Defense Force and police vehicles, making it an easy full-day outing for families.
