Why You Should Visit

An art, craft and food festival run by Kyoto Okazaki Tsutaya Books together with ROHM Theatre Kyoto, officially named KYOTO OKAZAKI TUMUGU FES. The open space on the Nijo-dori side of the theatre fills with contemporary artists, emerging makers, craft artists and food stalls, with live music through the day. The idea is to make art feel close at hand: you can talk to the makers and buy their work rather than just look. It follows editions in November 2019 and 2022 and runs rain or shine. Easy to fold into a half day around Heian Shrine and the Kyocera Museum in Okazaki.

Is there an admission fee?

The official site lists no admission fee. Food and works at the stalls are paid.

Is it held in the rain?

Yes, it runs rain or shine. The venue is an outdoor open space, so bring rain gear.

Can I drive there?

ROHM Theatre Kyoto has no parking. Congestion is expected nearby, so the organisers ask visitors to use public transport.
