About Toeinou

• An annual observance begun at the initiative of Kohfukuji's former chief abbot (Jimu-roin), Shunei Tagawa
• Noh is offered to Shaka Nyorai, the principal Buddha of the Chukondo, so it differs in character from an ordinary Noh performance
• There are no seats facing the stage, and applause is traditionally withheld

Changes from 2026

• The stage moves to the front of the Chukondo while the five-storied pagoda undergoes preservation work
• Now paid and reservation-required (fee and application method not yet announced)

In case of rain

• The venue is changed in bad weather (announced on Kohfukuji's official website)
