Why You Should Visit

The 10th edition of a market held in the parking area of Isonoura Beach, a surf spot in Wakayama City. Food trucks and flea-market stalls line up, and entry is free. On both days there is a Tyrannosaurus race, where participants in dinosaur suits take on obstacle courses and tug-of-war (suits lent free on the day), plus a candy toss for children of primary-school age and under, and an open beach clean-up in the morning. Isonoura Station on the Nankai Kada Line is about a minute's walk away, making this an easy seaside weekend outing by train for families.
