Why You Should Visit
A two-day evening market on the third floor of Ecoll Lilas, the shopping center right by Okaba Station on the Shintetsu line. Stalls come from the Kobe Regional Revitalization Corps, people who have moved out to the area and local groups working in Kobe's rural north: bamboo goods, natural stones and local vegetables on the retail side, plus game-meat sausage, spice curry and shaved ice to eat. Workshops run alongside — badge-making, geode cracking, and bamboo-dragonfly making by the Hokushin Ward Office with bamboo cleared from overgrown groves. There is live music too. It starts at 4 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday, both days until 8 p.m. Admission is free.
