Why You Should Visit

Higashiyoshino, a mountain village in southern Nara, is launching a two-day Christmas market at Takasumi no Sato to bring new life to the village in winter. Expect food and craft stalls plus workshops, running from 3pm to 8pm, with illuminations planned to switch on at 5pm. Stallholders include local village businesses as well as individuals and groups from outside. A good fit if you want an evening of shopping and lights in a quiet corner of the Nara mountains.
