Why You Should Visit
The autumn festival of the Hattasho district in Sakai's Naka Ward, held every October, when danjiri floats from eight towns are hauled through the neighborhood over three days. All eight are Kishiwada-style floats, and the festival closes out Sakai's danjiri season. The highlight is the shrine entry at Hachita Shrine on the morning of Saturday 10/17, the main day — the only time the eight towns run together in a line — followed by the Shindo parade from 12:45 to 16:00. Watching is free, and it is a good chance to see Kishiwada-style floats without going to Kishiwada.
