Venue & access: Takatsuki Castle Park Theatre South Hall, Momozono Elementary and central Takatsuki streets About 8 min on foot from Takatsuki-shi Station (Hankyu Kyoto Line) or 13 min from JR Takatsuki Station (to the theatre). Streets around the venues close to cars from about 16:00 to 22:00, so come by public transport.

Why You Should Visit

One of Hokusetsu's biggest citizen festivals, taking over central Takatsuki for two evenings. Around 130 groups join the street parade and theatre performances — the signature Takatsuki Wave and parades run both days, the Takatsuki Ondo dance on day one. About 100 food stalls and kitchen cars fill the school grounds. Free to enter, with the streets turning into a pedestrian festival zone from late afternoon into the night.

Where are the food stalls?

About 100 stalls and kitchen cars gather mainly at Momozono Elementary (from 15:00) and Daiichi Junior High (from 16:00). None on Keyaki-odori or Mizuki-dori this year.

Can I drive there?

Roads around the venues fully close from about 16:00 to 22:00 and no event parking is provided. It's an easy walk from Hankyu Takatsuki-shi or JR Takatsuki stations, so take the train.

Is the Takatsuki Ondo danced both days?

No — the Takatsuki Ondo is on August 1 only. The Takatsuki Wave and parades happen both days.
