10 minutes' walk from JR Kyoto Station, or 7 minutes from Gojo Station on the Karasuma subway line. Only a few parking spaces, so use public transport.

There are 12 car parks within a 12-minute walk of Shosei-en Garden (Kikoku-tei), Higashi Hongan-ji, and 3 public restrooms within 8 minutes. The map shows each with its walking time.

TICKETS / REGISTRATION

No reservation needed for garden entry. The Jusanya tea gathering (3 sittings of 10) requires advance booking via the reservation form, open from September 24.

NOTE

Tea gathering at Roan: 1st sitting 17:45–18:15 / 2nd 18:30–19:00 / 3rd 19:15–19:45.

Food & drink (planned): pecan nuts, tom kha gai (Thai soup), Kyoto moon-viewing pork buns, Kanra original craft beer, and assorted alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks — with THE THOUSAND KYOTO, Dusit Thani Kyoto and Hotel Kanra Kyoto.

About Jusanya: a moon-viewing tradition unique to Japan, held about a month after the harvest moon, on the 13th night of the 9th lunar month.
